And I mean really horrible. They'd encourage actual rape culture lines, and debate who was the worst friend. They'd debate how Paige didn't handle her trauma appropriately, and how being mean to her friends about it wasn't a realistic reaction. Something about online culture perpetuates this need for things to be so clearly laid out and explained in a cookie cutter way, that I think television networks ave up all together when it came to making this content. But, still, I do think there's a need for it.
Like losing third places, and spaces for teens to just congregate (malls), we've also lost that era of television. And don't get me started on the content of YA books being much more aligned with what would be in NA/Adult books. I could riot.
